We’re building a coalition of unions and community groups to run local, independent candidates in Los Angeles.

DEMOCRATS WOULD RATHER LOSE ELECTIONS THAN LOSE CORPORATE DONORS. An actual opposition party would be calling for strikes and organizing resistance.  An actual democratic party would be fighting to tax billionaires and fund our social services.

WE'RE BUILDING LOCAL POWER. We’re running candidates for local elections, so that we can talk to our neighbors and build networks - not just 'get out the vote.' We're building a coalition of community groups and unions to which our candidates will be accountable.

WE DO NOT RUN SPOILER CANDIDATES. We're fighting the oligarchs and trying to build a better America -- we need an alternative to Democrats, but no one wins when Republicans come to power.

The Trump administration is attacking Los Angeles.

ICE is stealing our families, friends, neighbors, and Trump is sending in the National Guard. Stand up with us: come to protests Monday June 9th, our zoom meeting Monday June 9th, and the June 14th No Kings protests.

Monday morning: Rallies against ICE and the national guard in Grand Park

Monday @ 7:30 pm: LCIP zoom meeting

Saturday beginning at 9:30 am: No Kings Rally

Can you attend any of these events?

VICTORY: Our two candidates just won their races for Neighborhood Council in Atwater Village, Los Angeles.

Anna and Gilbert will organize for affordable housing, accessible bathrooms in our public areas, better public transportation, and more. We'll send out a survey soon about what issues they should focus on first.

We're starting a Long Beach branch, and running a candidate for school board there!

Symptom: 90 million Americans did not choose a presidential candidate in the 2024 election.

Solution: We — political, trade union, and community activists from different political backgrounds — have decided to constitute ourselves as the Los Angeles Labor and Community for an Independent Party (LCIP). Join Us.
